Job Description

Ophthalmologist – Glaucoma Specialist (Partner Track)

Medical Eye Center | Southern Oregon

About the Opportunity

Medical Eye Center is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Glaucoma Specialist to join our established, thriving, multi-specialty team in Southern Oregon. This is a partner-track position with a clear path to ownership.

This opportunity comes as one of our partners prepares for retirement. The incoming physician will step into an established practice with a robust, loyal patient base and immediate surgical and clinical volume, allowing you to build a full schedule from day one rather than starting from scratch.

Serving Southern Oregon for over 115 years, Medical Eye Center is the premier provider of advanced vision, medical, and surgical eye care in the region. You’ll practice alongside a collaborative team of 7 optometrists and 9 multi-specialty ophthalmologists across 3 locations, serving a diverse and growing patient population with a strong network of referring providers throughout the region.

Partnership Opportunity

  • Partner-track position with the opportunity to buy in to multiple entities:
  • Clinic
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
  • Optical
  • Medial Spa
  • Real estate
  • Personal properties
  • Immediate access to a large, established glaucoma and cataract patient base
  • OR time at our practice-owned ASC
  • A voice in the future of the practice through transparent operations and inclusive decision-making

Who You Are

  • Completed an AUPO-accredited glaucoma fellowship
  • Board certified
  • Eligible for Oregon medical license and in good standing with current license
  • Skilled in the full spectrum of medical, laser, and surgical glaucoma management, including MIGS, trabeculectomy, and tube shunts
  • Comfortable collaborating with optometrists on co-management and shared care of glaucoma patients
  • Committed to evidence-based medicine and high clinical standards
  • Demonstrates personal accountability and ownership in both words and actions
  • Thrives in a culture of openness, trust, and collaborative teamwork
  • Exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a heart for patient education

Who We Are

  • A well-respected, high-volume, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice
  • Home to fellowship-trained ophthalmologists and residency-trained optometrists practicing in a collaborative model
  • Known for exceptional patient satisfaction and long-term relationships
  • Deeply committed to an organizational culture rooted in trust, transparency, and accountability
  • Invested in our team through continuing education and personal development
  • Transparent in operations and inclusive in decision-making
  • Proud legacy of implementing innovative techniques and technology in service of exceptional patient care

Why You’ll Love Living and Practicing in Southern Oregon

Southern Oregon offers an exceptional quality of life with a perfect balance of natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and community charm. Enjoy a mild, four-season climate with less than half the rain of Portland, and you’re just minutes from snow resorts, Crater Lake National Park, dozens of lakes and rivers, and award-winning wineries. Year-round, you’ll find opportunities for hiking, rafting, kayaking, fishing, skiing, cycling, golf, and more.

The region offers the dining and cultural sophistication of a city in a welcoming small community, along with excellent public and private schools, making it a wonderful place to raise a family. Southern Oregon also has a sophisticated healthcare system and serves as a tertiary care provider for a nine-county region. Whether you’re raising a family or looking for a better pace without sacrificing professional opportunity, Southern Oregon delivers an unmatched lifestyle for physicians.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + 30% of net production exceeding 2.5x base salary
  • Path to partnership with buy-in to clinic, ASC, optical, medical spa, real estate, and personal properties
  • Professional expenses allowance of up to $4,000 per year
  • 6 weeks paid time off and 7 paid holidays
  • Paid health and dental insurance for provider and family
  • Excellent vision benefits
  • 401(k) profit sharing plan with employer contribution
  • Paid life and long-term disability insurance
  • $30K relocation allowance/signing bonus
  • Generous discounts on products and services within Medical Eye Center and Renew Medical Spa

This is an opportunity to step into an established glaucoma practice, build long-term ownership, and practice at a high level alongside exceptional surgeons and colleagues, in a culture that values both clinical excellence and human connection.
